I am Jonathan Cohen.
I think it started in 7th grade shop class. I made a simple wooden step stool for my mother (which she loved and still has) and I was hooked on working with wood. I wanted to do more but as time passed, that interest was set aside for more “practical” pursuits. Fast forward several years (lets not get into actual numbers) and I rediscovered woodworking when I bit off more than I could chew and I built an entertainment center for my family room. Since then I’ve been building furniture for my home and gifts for family and friends. Learning and perfecting my craft with every project. Enter 2020; we all took a pause and then many of us had to shift, myself included. I got to throw myself into the woodworking. And with the support and encouragement from friends and family, Alder & Ash Woodworks was born.
The business may be young but the experience is seasoned. I pride myself on building a quality product. Something as functional as it is beautiful. And everything built to last a lifetime.
